The Concordia Youth Theatre has made its name over the years by nurturing raw, young talent to produce shows to professional standards.
The Concordia Youth Theatre is a society founded in 1974 . The aim of the Youth Theatre is to encourage younger members to take an active role in the performing side of theatre. This allows them to develop their skills and increase their confidence. Our members are openly encouraged to perform with adult societies within the Concordia Theatre, such as: The Tinhatters The Pantomime Company The CAOS The New Theatre Players The Hinckley Community Guild.
We also encourage our members to participate in other areas of theatre including working back-stage, lighting, sound and production design.
The Youth Theatre produce one show each year which normally runs for 5 nights in June. Our history of shows produced can be found in the Past Productions section of the site.
In addition to the workshops and annual production, trips to others theatres are organised. In recent years these have been to Billy Elliot, Les Misérables, Sunset Boulevard and Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Often, we invite professional directors and performers to take a Master Class in singing, acting, dance or general stagecraft.
